Spring Wedding Flowers

Now that the temperatures are warming up, spring flowers are on their way!  And if you’re a bride-to-be, now is the time to consider the kind of bouquet you may want for your special day. To help in the decision-making process we’ve highlighted some of our favorite spring flowers and coupled them together for combinations you’re sure to love!

Peonies and White Roses

For a bouquet that is feminine and full, try pairing these lush beauties with large white roses. The combination of pale hues will look clean, classic and beautiful.  This arrangement is especially perfect if you want a bouquet that maintains a dome shape.

Irises and Lilies

If you prefer a spray shaped bouquet that is far less structured, consider combining lilies and irises. With longer stems you can create high-energy texture and a splash of vibrant color. This is a great choice if you are working with brighter hues like purple, peach, orange or yellow. However, the traditional white lily is also always an incredible option.

Orchids and Gardenias

For a cascading arrangement that screams drama, orchids and gardenias are definitely the way to go. An all-white bouquet allows you the freedom to play with lots of texture, without going overboard.

Wedding Trends for 2014

2014 might have started off on a chilly foot, but in the world of weddings things are just heating up. From settings and flowers to style and color themes, we are all about what’s hot for the year ahead, and if you’re a bride- to -be we’re sure you are too! So, for our first official blog post we’re diving in with some of our favorite trends to look out for while planning your dream ceremony.

Flowing Floral Arrangements

Gone are the days when stiff and stuffy displays made their way to the center of every table. This year loose arrangements packed full of super colorful, high texture flowers are replacing these outdated styles. Overflowing bouquets look natural, unique and add a touch of extravagance to any trip down the aisle.

Mismatched Bridesmaids

While matching bridesmaid’s dresses may have a classic appeal, they are becoming a thing of the past!  The pressure of finding a style and fit for multiple body types can not only be grueling but sometimes impossible, which is why we love this new take on bridal party attire. From varying shades to multiple cuts, this trend allows for uniformity with a twist.

Make way for Gray

No matter the season, a stunning gray hue can be a perfect addition for any wedding. As a neutral shade, gray allows for brides to play with flower and accent colors. Not to mention the understated elegance of a simple color ensures that wedding photos will look classic for decades to come. Other hot hues to consider for this year are pale pink and navy blue.

Statement Headwear

From dramatic veils to floral headpieces, hair looks this year are centered around this growing trend. Regardless of your personal style or budget, when it comes to this look there really is something for everyone!

Rustic Theme

Although a less formal theme is certainly not for everyone, when done appropriately, a “wooded wedding” can look both effortless and chic. From pinterest inspiration to celebrity nuptials, the refreshing simplicity of pastoral styles is becoming a craze for 2014. Opting for a relaxed dress code and unique flower arrangements is the name of the game for this trend, and it’s something to look into if you are hoping to stray from the norm!

These are just a few of the many great trends we are seeing for 2014 so far. What are some of your favorites?
